Blessed Warmth

Although I never captured the Christmas spirit this season beyond feeling a tiny bit of it whenever I was in the car and hummed along with the all Christmas channel on the radio, neither have I been bent by the bleakness that usually hits me hard each year in late November or so and stays with me until late March when some signs of spring emerge from a dark, cold slumber. We're already on the other side of the winter solstice and I've yet to feel oppressed by the darkness that typically permeates even my bones when the days grow shorter, especially when we leave daylight savings time.



Just today I was out in the yard without even a light jacket
on, and how appropriate - I'm feeling up the pussy willow!
It might be the warm temperatures that are keeping the winter doldrums at bay. It's been in the 40's and 50's here during the daylight hours most days since the end of summer, and except for a few stray flurries there's been no snow to speak of yet. I think I could get used to this. If this is global warming, by all means bring it on!
